Pitt Professor to Deliver Key Animal Health Care Supplies to Bolivia

When Danielle Tufts, assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Public Health, was asked to teach an infectious diseases course in Bolivia as one of Pitt’s study abroad offerings, she jumped at the chance.

As she was researching more about the county, the disease specialist in ticks and tick-borne pathogens learned that there were several wildlife sanctuaries and that one, Parque Ambue Ari, was not far from Cochabamba, where she would be teaching. Wildlife conservation and care is a passion of Tufts and with its proximity, she saw an opportunity.
