Pitt Earns Spots in Best Global Universities and Times Higher Ed Impact Ranking

Pitt was 50th in the 2024-25 U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities rankings.

This is the 10th annual global rankings by U.S. News. The overall ranking encompasses 2,250 institutions, up from 2,000 in the last ranking, spread across 104 countries, up from 95.

The highest weighted criteria — 12.5 percent each — were global research reputation, regional research reputation and number of publications that are among the 10 percent most cited.

Pitt ranks just ahead of Karolinska Institutet in Sweden and just behind KU Leuven in Belgium. It is 24th among U.S. schools.

The top rated universities in the list were all from the U.S. — Harvard, MIT and Stanford.
