Provost Joe McCarthy has announced several personnel changes since the beginning of the semester.
University Center for International Studies: Two people have been named to replace Ariel Armony, who has left as vice chancellor of global affairs and director of the University Center of International Affairs to become provost at Babson College in Wellesley, Mass. Effective Oct. 15, Allyson Delnore, who served as the executive director of academic affairs in UCIS, became the center’s interim executive director, and Jeff Whitehead, UCIS executive director of global engagement in UCIS, became interim executive director of Pitt Global.
McCarthy in making the announcement on Oct. 14 said he will ask a search advisory committee “to consider the current structure of Pitt’s global efforts and programming; listen to the perspectives of constituents around the University; and then ask the advisory committee to make a recommendation about the most appropriate structure for the center’s continued leadership, as well as to support achieving Pitt’s global aspirations as articulated within the Plan for Pitt 2028. I will then ask that the committee to conduct a search that reflects those determinations.”
